This Craftsman style home was newly designed and built for the Historic Fairmount neighborhood in Fort Worth Texas. Taking inspiration from existing 100+ year old homes in the area, the goal was to create a new home with fully modern function, that looks and feels like it has always been part of the neighborhood. This includes an open concept kitchen and living, plenty of storage, and spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. The design process started by meeting with neighborhood representatives to get an understanding of the history and style of the existing homes, and taking note of dominant features. Upon neighborhood association approval, the design went before the Texas Landmark Commission for approval as an official historic reconstruction. From there, we went to permits and construction, and now a very happy family calls this house home. Architectural design by Annilee B Waterman. Decor is home owner’s collection.
