Mountain Retreat Metaverse Space

I am excited to present “Mountain Retreat”, a metaverse Digital Twin of a real construction plan.

A Digital Twin can provide architects, interior designers, and their clients an immersive and interactive experience during the design process. This unique and innovative platform allows one to fully experience and interact with their plans in a virtual world. The standout feature of this project is the opportunity to fully explore and interact with a home design to scale, in real time. Whether it’s walking through the virtual home and viewing the layout from different angles, or meeting virtually in the space with the designer to discuss modifications, a digital twin provides a level of immersion and interaction that is not possible with traditional design methods. This leveraging of metaverse technology represents a significant step forward for architecture and interior design portfolios, presentations and collaborations.

I utilized Chief Architect Premier to draft my detailed architectural plans and build the 3D architectural model. I then used Blender with BlenderKit to bring the design to life for Spatial. I created the custom Skybox by building and rendering my own mountain biome in Lumion. I plan to further develop the project using the Spatial Unity SDK.

What is a Digital Twin?

A digital twin is a virtual replica of a physical space or object. For architecture and interior design, a digital twin can be used to visualize and analyze the design of a building or interior space before it is built. It can be used to explore different design options, assess the impact of different materials and finishes, and analyze the flow of people and traffic through the space.  Digital Twins can help avoid mistakes, and save time and money. A digital twin can also be used a Virtual Office, Meeting Space, Gallery or Portfolio Piece.  Digital Twins are increasing being used in the travel and hotel industry for virtual tourism and experience previews.

A Digital Twin can provide architects, interior designers, developers and their clients an immersive and interactive experience during the design process, and as part of ongoing marketing efforts. This unique and innovative platform allows clients to fully experience and interact with their plans in a virtual world. The standout feature is the opportunity to fully explore and interact with a home design to scale, in real time. Having a Digital Twin (Virtual Tour) for your property has been shown to increase your overall property value.

What is a Virtual Architect?

A virtual architect is a person who designs and builds virtual worlds and spaces, often for use in video games, virtual reality, or other immersive experiences.

Metaverse architects create the overall vision and design of a virtual world, including its layout, appearance, and functionality.

Some of the specific tasks that a metaverse architect might perform include:

    • Developing the overall concept and design of a virtual world, including its layout, appearance, and functionality
    • Creating 3D models and environments using specialized software such as 3D modeling tools and game engines
    • Designing and implementing gameplay mechanics and interactions within the virtual world
    • Collaborating with other members of the development team, including programmers, artists, and designers, to bring the virtual world to life
    • Testing and debugging the virtual world to ensure it is functioning properly and providing a seamless and enjoyable experience for users
    • Maintaining and updating the virtual world as needed to fix bugs and add new features or content.

Metaverse architects typically have a strong background in architecture, game design or a related field, as well as experience with 3D modeling, rendering, game engines, and other relevant software tools.
