This time every year, Sherwin Williams (my fave) announces their picks for color of the year.  2014 is a lovely smokey purple hue “Exclusive Plum”.  Sometimes purple paint colors can look very young, like for a baby’s room, but not this one. There’s just enough grey in to make it really sophisticate, appropriate for any age.

I also found this amazing plum velvet sofa at Back Alley Furniture.  It lives in my family room now. :)
